Tombi – EO Detection and AR-based Safety Education

Helping People Understand Risk — To Protect Lives

Landmines and unexploded ordnance (collectively referred to as EO, or explosive ordnance) continue to threaten communities long after conflicts have ended. The danger is often invisible. People often struggle to judge how close is too close, and such misunderstandings can lead to devastating accidents.

Tombi directly addresses this gap. By transforming hidden threats into spatial information that people can clearly understand, it empowers safer behavior and informed decision-making.

AI Makes the Invisible Visible

Using drone imagery, Tombi employs computer vision to detect EO on the surface with high accuracy. Even small threats that would be difficult for the human eye to spot become visible early, allowing responders to prioritize where safety must be restored first.

Detected results can be exported in standard geospatial formats, supporting interoperability with national authorities and global mine action systems.

A Digital Twin that Connects Field and Command

All detection results are integrated into Sierra — Foxtrot’s digital twin platform — where they are shared as intuitive 3D spatial information.

Field teams, command centers, and international partners can coordinate within the same virtual operational environment — seeing the same terrain, the same threats, and the same priorities.

It is a shared space for collaboration, decision-making, and learning, accelerating clearance while strengthening safety.

AR Teaches Safe Distance as a Body-Level Experience

Tombi’s AR capabilities provide a hands-on understanding of EO danger, whether used in a safe classroom or directly in the field.

By overlaying EO and visualizing realistic danger zones in the user’s own surroundings, it enables people to intuitively learn how distance relates to safety through experience.

The system supports community risk education, operator pre-deployment training, and on-site hazard awareness in live environments.

Call for Partnerships

We are expanding field PoC activities and are seeking operational partners and real-world feedback.

We welcome collaboration with:

  • National mine and UXO centers and mine action authorities
  • Humanitarian NGOs and international organizations
  • Universities and research labs
  • Defense and civil engineering units
  • Local drone operators and pilot associations

Let’s work together to reduce EO risk and make land safer for communities.
